The Ferrer’s Household

Come and meet me with The Ferrers Household, a 15th century living history re-enactment society, members of the War of the Roses Federation. where you can see us showcase the traditions and knowledge of the fifteenth century. I’m the herbalist in the household and have a range of herbs and potions for you to explore.

    Come and visit us in the beautiful grounds, and see where Mary Queen of Scotts was held captive. A great day out for all the family.

  • Monk Bretton Priory

    May 16 & 17 2026

    On the edge of Barnsley stand the substantial remains of Monk Bretton Priory, a Cluniac monastery founded in the 12th century. For two days visitors can see 15th century living history and come and chat with the gang.

  • Sherwood Forest Gathering of the North

    Step back into the medieval world by joining the Gathering of the North and experiencing medieval Britain in the home of Robin Hood.

  • Barnet Medieval Festival

    June 6 & 7 2026

    A reenactment of the Battle of Barnet 1471. They are dedicated to preserving and sharing the history of the Wars of the Roses, showcasing the impact of this period in British history. They aim to make the Barnet Medieval Festival one of the most anticipated events on the calendar for years to come’.

  • Grace Dieu Priory

    The Grace Dieu Priory was an independent Augustinian priory, founded around 1235-1241 by Roesia de Verdun.

  • The Tewksbury Medieval Festival

    July 11 & 12 2026

    Tewkesbury Medieval Festival is now widely regarded as the largest free medieval gathering of its kind in Europe, attracting re-enactors, traders, entertainers, and visitors from all over the world.

    Its central feature is a spectacular re-enactment of the Battle of Tewkesbury on part of the site of the original battle of 1471.

  • Breedon Priory Church

    September 5 2026

    Around 1124, an Augustinian priory was founded at Breedon on the Hill. The church that remains nowadays, and is worth a visit. We will be here for one day only, an event not to be missed.

  • Oakham Castle

    September 12 2026

    The splendid Great Hall of Oakham Castle is one of the finest Norman Halls in England. The Hall is best known for its collection of enormous commemorative horseshoes, donated by members of the Royal Family and Peers of the Realm.

    We will be in the grounds of this historic building for one day only, do come along and meet us.
